Itinerary
Day 1
Meeting at Bologna airport or train station. Private transfer to your 4 star hotel in the heart of Bologna.
Drive to the small and charming town of Dozza for dinner.
Day 2
In the morning drive to the hills of Romagna to visit a privately owned aromatic herb garden. Lunch.
After lunch drive to visit a family-owned factory where they hand stamp aprons, tablecloths and other table linens with traditional decorations of Romagna.
In the late afternoon Italian cooking lesson demonstration at a restaurant.
Day 3
Morning visit and walk in Bologna central market area.
Light lunch on your own.
After lunch guided tour of Bologna with an English speaking guide.
Afternoon hands-on cooking lesson at a private home with an excellent Italian family cook.
Day 4
In the early morning, we’ll head off to the Parma area, home of the legendary Parmigiano Reggiano. We’ll visit a traditional small factory and learn the secrets of creating a truly great wheel of cheese.
Drive to Traversetolo, close to Parma, to visit a family producer of prosciutto of Parma.
After lunch transfer to Parma and guided visit of the town with an English speaking guide.
Next, travel to Modena, home of the single ingredient that has changed the face of salads forever, balsamic vinegar. In the cellars see how this signature product is made and sample 25-year-old balsamic vinegar on soft, fresh chunks of local specialty breads.
Back to Bologna after a long but memorable day. Dinner free.
Day 5
Morning spa visit.
After lunch we depart for Faenza to visit “Faience” laboratory and workshop.
In the afternoon drive to the beautiful countryside for a 3 hours hands-on cooking lesson
Day 6
In the morning leave for Ravenna, famous for its Byzantine mosaics and architecture.
After lunch back to the hotel.
In the evening drive to Imola for the farewell gala dinner at the 2 star Michelin San Domenico Restaurant, one of the most celebrated restaurants in Italy.
Day 7
Departure to Bologna airport or train station after breakfast at the hotel.
